Put it up near a power point
It runs off a USB power supply. Mount it somewhere you'll see it every day, like the kitchen or the hallway, and plug it in.

Connect it to your WiFi
Pick your WiFi and type the password right on the screen. You can also scan the QR code it shows and finish in your phone's browser. There's nothing to install and no account to make.

It finds your inverter
It looks for your solar system on your home network and starts showing your numbers, usually in under a minute.
The inverter needs one setting switched on, called “Modbus”. On some inverters, like Sigenergy, you can do this in the inverter's own app. If not, your solar installer can do it in a couple of minutes.
Works with two brands today
The current firmware fully supports Sigenergy and GoodWe. The firmware for Sungrow, Fronius, SolarEdge and Victron is built and we are testing it on real systems before we call it supported. Everything else is still being planned.

A solar forecast that learns your roof
You don't need to know what panels you have or which way they face. Each day HaymakerHub compares the local sunshine forecast with what your system actually made.
After a few good days it has learned how much your system makes for a given amount of sun. Then the corner of the screen shows Today and Tomorrow in kWh. That helps you plan the washing for the sunnier day. Until it has learned enough, it leaves the numbers off.
There is nothing to set up and no panel specs to enter.
- Dims at night. Set the hours on the hub and it turns itself down overnight.
- Automatic updates. New features and fixes arrive by themselves. We look after the software so you don't have to.
- Finds your inverter. Give it the address once and it works out the brand by itself.

What leaves your house
The hub only reads your inverter and doesn't change how your solar system runs. Three small things go out once a day, and none of them carry your energy data.

Serial number, firmware version, inverter brand and how long it has been running. We use it for warranty and firmware health.

Its version number and nothing else.

Your postcode, for the solar forecast. Clear it in Settings and this stops.
Nothing else is sent. We don't collect usage data or analytics.
Questions
Does it need the internet?
Only for the weather forecast, update checks and its daily status report. Everything else happens on your home network. The hub reads your inverter over WiFi, so it keeps going if your internet drops out.
Where do the numbers come from?
From your inverter. HaymakerHub asks your inverter for its readings every second and shows exactly what it reports. It reads the same data the inverter's own app uses, so if a number ever looks off, the inverter is the place to check.
What happens if HaymakerHub shuts down?
The hub keeps working. It reads your inverter directly and doesn't need our servers to show your energy. Updates would stop. The forecast would stop too, because it comes through our service.
Is there a subscription?
No. No subscription, no account, no app.
Who installs it?
You can do it yourself. It runs off USB, so you mount it near a power point and plug it in. Your electrician or solar installer can do it just as well. The inverter needs one setting switched on. If your inverter's app doesn't let you do that, your solar installer can do it in a couple of minutes.
My inverter isn't listed. Can I still get one?
Tell us what you have when you register above. Our contact email goes up when pre-orders open, and you can write to us then too. The brands people ask for most get added first. We only list a brand once it works.
Is my data sold?
We only receive what's listed under What leaves your house, and none of it is your energy data.
